just got satilite radio. does the antenna it comes with for the roof have to pick up signal from the stock antenna?? and if u guys have it where'd you put the antenna??

No, the satellite radio antenna is completely separate from the AM/FM antenna and works on a much higher frequency (around 2.3GHz). It picks up signal directly from the satellite (or in some cases from terrestrial repeaters) so it should ideally be mounted on the highest point of the car with a clear view of the sky. However, the satellite signal is not affected significantly by glass or plastic so there are several places you can put the antenna that are less obvious. For example, inside the rear spoiler generally works well. Some have even put it on the dash near the base of the windshield.

Yes, you can have it in the car although outside or in the spoiler is better. I have mine on the t-top bar - the antennas are so small now that it's hardly noticeable there.

You can try placing the antenna underneath the windshield cowl on the passenger side (1-2 inches away from the air vent so the metal mesh doesn't block the signal). That's where I have mine and I get perfect reception, and the best part -- you can't see the antenna!
This might not work well for you since the Z28 hood sits up a little higher than on the birds (since the hood is metal). Try it out if you want!
