which style/size box?

which style/size box? my sister got a new car and i have to switch the radio and speakers in the two cars. She needs a new box for the sub. She has a Kicker l7 12", which style box ported? or sealed and what size volume?

Kicker recommends between .88-2.0 cu ft. for sealed and between 1.75-3.25 cu ft. for ported. In general Sealed boxes are more accurate and have greater power handling. However, Ported boxes are normally "louder" at the same volume setting and therefore don't "need" as much power to play loudly. I guess it depends on what you want... QUALITY/ACCURACY or Loud. This is of course an oversimpliciation, as you can build more accurate ported boxes and the wrong size sealed box can have poor bass quality.
Check your owner's manual... kicker gives you all this info and more--or check out the .pdf files for that woofer on kicker's web site Kicker
