How to fix burnt wires?

How to fix burnt wires? I think some of 02 sensor wires are burned. How do I fix this? I have no electrical experience. Just cut the wires, then use the connectors that come from GM to but them back together? Just cut, then put the connector in between the new wires and the old wires? Thanks!
