Default any problem with this?

Im using an employee discount to get 4 kicker KS series speakers a 10" L7, and a 600 rms amp with 1200 peak i believe it was, all for 80% off.

Well I bought a walmart wiring kit. It claims its good for 1450 watts of peak power and 750 rms. Is there any problems foreseeable with using this wiring? I know its nothing high end of course, but if it works without putting me at risk of fire than Im fine with it.

i was changin tires and doin an oil change on a monte carlo that had jumper cables ran to the battery to the amp. pretty classy. I've heard of people using the walmart ones, without a problem.

It isn't so much the brand as it is what gauge the wires are. Some of the cheaper ones claim a certain gauge and then it really isn't. You need to be more concerned about the gauge of the wire...in this case no less than 4awg wire for power and ground with that much wattage should be fine.

yea, brand doesnt matter at all

Its just dame wire... lol

But if you need 1500 watts, make sure its 4 gauge wire or a smaller number
I get my wire from a local hardware place for 10$
its decent size wire for the price, i think its 6 gauge
and it is great

Ya wire is wire, but with running that much power play it safe and run 4 gauge, i only do 8 for component amps. I always use off brand wire and havent had a problem with it.

make sure the wiring you get is what you are actually wanting. alot of times the lower end brands claim to be 4 gauge but is really more like a 8 gauge wiring with a crap ton of plastic covering it.

Wire may be wire... but the nicer stuff still likely has it's benefits:

easier to work with (flexibility)

better looking

stronger insulation

greater Copper/Aluminum ratio

i ordered wiring off ebay that was supposed to be 8 gauge and was more like 16. I would just buy kicker wiring, it very flexible and a top notch product.

Which brand from Walmart is it? I ask because I have seen at my local Walmart a couple different brands one of which being Scosche. Now I know it's not Scosche EFX but Scosche is a great brand of wiring. My shop has always used the EFX or Stinger and it's great stuff. Go 4ga for sure and you shouldn't have any problems.
