Complete me a system.
I'm wanting to use this headunit
Alpine CDA-9885
http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...&tp=5684&avf=N
And I want a 10" sub in a subthump box
Goals: sound quality. I don't care about loudness THAT much.. but I need to be able to hear everything balanced properly at high volumes, when the t-tops are off.
I want to spend around $1000. I don't mind paying a little extra for quality.
I listen to electronic music.. trance, drum n bass, breakbeat, etc. I like my highs as loud as my lows. I need a sub, since my major complaint is the lack of any sort of lows. Also looking to drive the door speakers off of an amp. Sail panel speakers probably driven from the HU.
Recommend me some gear that matches each other well.
HU: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...rs/DEH-P4000UB ~$160
Front speakers: Rainbow CMX265. They sound great. Nice and crisp highs. The crossovers have three levels for the tweeters. I like the middle one myself. Get a tweeter pod from Mike or Ian. ~$450
Sail panel: Nothing or some Rainbow coaxes I guess. Probably sound line or dream line. I use nothing here personally. $0 - ~$100
Sub: Fi Q12 dual 1 ohm in a 12" stealthbox from Ian ~$350
Amp: Kicker ZX700.5 on Ebay ~$200
You won't get better quality from a receiver unless you step up to the 880PRS or 800PRS or similar. It's not the amplifiers themselves that are higher quality, but those PRS receivers will let you do extra stuff like time alignment. They won't sound any better without tweaking.
Oh, were you looking to make a system around your current Infinitys?

Probox, not subthump... trust me, better
Pioneer or Alpine headunit I have a kenwood and love it
And a Audiobahn amp
And you can get some Pioneer speakers or Infinity.. depending on how loud you want it
Pioneer is good quality clear speakers IMO, and they are cheaper
and i would go ahead and get 12 inch subs.... not much more, a lot better sound
~100$ for 4 good pioneer speakers
~250$ for a probox for the camaro
~200$ for the subs
~140 for a good audiobahn amp
~ you know the price for the HU you want
for the JL if you have more, get the w3 over the w1
you will need a bigger amp, i have a 1000 watt kenwood amp pushin my two JL 12s and loved it in my Probox

The CDT CL-E61CV is what is known as a convertable system. This means that it operates as a component system but can be converted to a coaxial by removing the dust cap in the center and twisting in a center pole that the tweeter can be mounted on coaxially. It is made to do this and comes with all the mounting gear. Again...very versatile and you still get great sound quality with the use of the CDT crossover.
If you wanted I can order your Alpine deck in as well. I don't carry Alpine as a brand yet but can order them in and save you about $20.00 over Crutchfields price. It would still have the iPod cable as well. That is a nice deck!
If I can help you out let me know!

For those who don't know what I am refering to the JL 500/5 has 100watts x 2 to the front channel (front speakers) at 4ohms and 25watts x 2 to the rear channel (rear speakers) in addition to the Class D sub channel of 250watts at 4ohms. This amp is stable to 1.5 ohms though more than doubling the output if needed. For the record this is a hell of an amp as well and I am sure that the 25watts to the rear is underrated anyway.
The 5-channel amp I just got in will barely fit on the back wall... it's a beast at 10" w x 26" long...
That being said alot of people are not concerned with that kind of detail when it comes to audio so most companies just make the front and rear channels the same so they can power their 6 x 9's
(jk) the same as their front speakers!

There's a name I hadn't heard in awhile (and hoped to not hear again).
