? about OEM 12 disk Changer

? about OEM 12 disk Changer I have an 02 WS6 and bought a 12 disk changer off a member who's car is also an 02. When I hooked up the CD it seemed to be fine, had power etc. I put a few cd's in (not copys) and they loaded but wouldn't play. The radio flashed an error code...32 or 34, can't remember. Now I know the changer loaded the cd in the tray because I could hear it, but the cd never spun. I did have the CD facing the correct direction, label down...actually tried both.
So I ship it back to the seller thinking it's broken and it works fine in his car. The car was bought new and only has 15k on it, and I never used the factory harness until now. It was still wraped up behind the speaker. I did have to put the battery back in the car because it's stored for the winter, but don't think that would matter because the in-dash player worked fine. Any ideas for next time?? Thanks!
