I have a bunch of cheapo stuff like Boss, Lanzar, speakers, radios, etc. if you just need something to put in it. It would also be brand new stuff. I can put together a package for you for that would cost very little and still sound ok. Give me a budget you are looking to spend. I could probably put something together with a radio and 4 speakers for under $200.00. I have some Motorjoy 6.5" coaxials that actually have Kevlar cones for $27.00. A variety of inexpensive HU's for around $100.00 from RCA, Sony, JVC, Blaupunkt. PM me and I would be glad to put something together for you!

It's not that the Bose system is bad - it's just that it takes a lot of work to put one in. It requires a special head unit, Bose-specific speakers with built-in amps, and special wiring with amp power and speaker common grounds. It's really not worth the trouble.

I was more referring to the guy who wanted to sell you a Monsoon system while your car did not come with one from the factory. As mentioned, the trouble just isn't worth it. Many love their Bose setups as a factory system over the Monsoon setups... but anything aftermarket you put together will likely sound better, and save you a lot of time.

If the car doesn't already have an outstanding loan, you can use the car as collateral on a loan for any purpose (including repairs to the car). If you own a home (and have some equity in it), you can get a homeowners loan or line of credit that can be used for any purpose. Or, if your credit is good enough, you can get a signature loan without any collateral.
