Default Trouble with CD player, anti-skip seems to be not working.

Recently I got into an accident and did some decent front end damage to my Trans Am. 4,000 dollars later, it's back on the road and ripping it up. One lingering problem I do have is with the CD player. When driving down the road CD's skip with nearly every moderately harsh bump, it's like the CD player has no skip buffer/protection. I have a stock system with the exception of an amp tied into all the speakers and a subwoofer. Just curious if there's anything I can do to possibly fix the problem or is it time for a new deck?

Not many players have that, actually. If it's skipping a lot, it needs to be repaired or replaced. You can try cleaning it if you want. Do NOT use the CD with the brushes though, as those do more harm than good. You might need to disassemble it and clean the lens with windex.

I'll give it a shot, pretty much useless when driving right now and there always seems to be nothing but **** on the radio. Thanks for the advice.

The CD player's suspension mechanism may have been damaged during the crash..

I'm guessing it didn't skip on the same roads beforehand?

You'd be correct, never missed a beat until after the crash.
