Blowing Courtesy fuse
About two months ago I changed out all my lighting and made custom dome and map lights. The car was put in the garage for the winter and I drive it around the block about once a week. Everything was working perfectly fine, gave me no problems until I took it to the local chevy dealership and got the windows tinted. I know they were working when I got there because I showed my buddy the lights before we dropped her off... Later that day, I get the car back but I didnt notice cause it was light outside and put the car up for the night. The next day I went to check the tint and noticed the map and dome lights dont turn on, neither does the glove box along with everything else on that circuit. bought me some fuses today, popped one in and it blew immediately... Any idea why this is happening, or what could have happened when they tinted the windows? only thing i can think of is some of their solution getting down inside the window and shorting something.
thanks

There's nothing in the doors related to the courtesy lights (well, there's the door switch but shorting that wouldn't blow a fuse because it's a grounding switch). Assuming they also tinted your hatch glass, I would look around the dome light for the problem.

Ok checked the dome light, the electrical tape looked like it might have rubbed through a bit i dunno if i was touching the metal or not.. disconnected it, plugged in a new fuse. the fuse didnt blow, the map lights dont come on.. but the glove box does...

hmm that was weird, i went and plugged the dome light back up after putting some more electrical tape on and it started flashing about every 10 sec(map light still off). got in the driver seat and looked at my leds and made sure they wernt burnt. flipped the interior light switch on the rearview mirror on and the driver side and dome light both came on and stayed on. passenger side map led's didnt come on though... looks like im gonna have to tear it apart and look at it
btw, thanks whitebird for the fast response!
