amp questions What does bridging mean when dealing with amps and how do u run 2 amps at the same time?....I have 2 Rockford 10's in my truck with a single rockford amp, but its kinda small and cant really push the speakers...I found a good deal on 2 JL amps, how can i run them together to power the both speakers?
You could wire your two 10's in parallel and a get two Ohm load. That would about double the out put power to your subs(I am assuming that your subs a SVC 4 ohm). If you get two amps, I would run one sub on each amp bridged. A lot of amps now days have input and output rca's on them. You run the rca's from the HU to the input on one of the amps. Then use the out put rca's on that amp to the input of the other amp. I don't know off hand if JL amps have both sets or not. Basically bridging means, your combining both channels of the amplifier to make one super channel with a lot more power output than a speaker hooked to each channel. If you look at your owners manual for your amp, if should give the power secs for 4 ohm 2 ohm and bridged. Bridged usually has the highest power rating.
