Default Discrete place to hide an amp?

I'm looking to keep the stock look with a sub in a stealth box. Other than the subthump amp rack, or mounting it in the spare tire well. Is there any other great way to mount an amp? It''s relatively small alpine mono amp.

Under the front passenger seat is the only other place I can think of....I really don't think there is much room there though -- not sure how small the amp would have to be or how much it would interfere with seat movement.

Other than that, spare tire well, and stealth area (not an option since you have the box there).... not really any discrete places. Not going to come up with some magic secret area you can mount it in tho.

Wherever you decide to mount it just make sure there is air circulating it it so ur amp doesnt over heat

^^^ Yea - don't forget you can always add an external fan to help with circulation.

The best place to put the amp is in the rear like the subthump amp rack.

He's trying to avoid that.

What about putting it in the factory amps location. You will most likely hafta remove the spare tire to do it. And as far as air circulation goes you could always put a couple of fans back there, and remove the adhesive material that is blocking the other half that isnt being blocked by that small speaker in that rear speaker cover and vent the hot air out through that area. Just a thought tho.

I've seen some custom mounts that actually mount the amp in the t-top holding area, but up against the back of the car.. Not sure if that makes any sense or not...

I mean directly on the other side of your tail lights and bumper. This seems like a good idea since it'll still leave your trunk space virtually untouched and will allow the use of t-tops if you have them.. Plus a short distance for wiring in your sub..

Sorry, wasn't sure what he meant by that.. I called it the rear wall mounting rack, not the subthump..

Under seats is out there is basically no room, ive looked. Spare tire well. You can fit it behind the spare with minimal work

I know he is. I was just stating that the subthump amp rack is probably a good way to mount the amp(s) and still retain the stock look.

Yeah but I really didn't want to mount the amp externally. I guess this is my only option

Well you seem to be against the best alternative of somewhere inside the spare tire well.... Have you opened it up and played around with your amp to see if it can be positioned somewhere nicely w/o removing the spare?

Someone this board took his back seats and cut out a square the side of the amp on the back of the back seats and mounted it there so that its hidden and out of the way.
Kind of hard to explain, and not so sure about circulation.
