The PAC SWI-X is a straightforward install. The programming is button pushing. The unit has 2 led's. Once for the Steering Wheel button and the other of the infrared remote. It's dummy proof once you hook up the wires.

Obviously not as easy as with the CDA series and its causing me to rethink the purchase of the IDA models. Alpine's obviously less than forthcoming about this change

Ian, if you can find out what the deal is here I'd appreciate it.
The IDA-x100 has the plug to interface with the SWI-JACK wired interface. It's installed and working flawlessly in my car, as well as the XM Direct2 (programmed for an ida-x001)

The X100 doesn't come with a wireless remote, so if you wanted to use the SWI-X, you'd need to buy or borrow someone's Alpine wireless remote to program it.

Ian, congrats on carrying Alpine now.. I would have much rather bought mine from you... Nice price too!

On any unit over $129.00 I will include the mount adapter, harness adapter, and antenna adapter where applicable. This does NOT include the harness adapter for newer model GM products that require the special harness for Onstar, Bose and door chime functions. The harness for those applications are available but not included.

I would if it is for an F-body or comparable type of harness adapter. What I am getting at is some of the newer GM products as well as others need a special adapter that costs over $150.00 in order for the Onstar, door chime, and some other functions to operate. I cannot include this particular harness for free for obvious reasons. If your speaking about an F-body harness or comparable....no problem....I will include that and the antenna adapter for you and any other order!! Just though I should clarify.

What's the difference between the X100, X200 and X300?
