Default What other sub box options do i have???

So i am picking up a set of 12' Kicker pro compVRs. They are in a kicker box. my original intent was to put them in a pair of stealth boxes from Kee Audio, but after reading the specs, those boxes dont have enough air volume for the subs. since i want to be able to use my t-tops, im almost forced into buying the dual 12 t-top box from subthump right? Are there any other options out there? maybe someone else has designed a stealth box with more air volume? any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I also have standard dual 12" sub enclosures made from 3/4" mdf. Look here toward the bottom: http://www.keeaudio.com/id71.html
Each chamber is about 1.0ft^3 plus because of the extension into the bottom part of the hatch.

A custom T-top box would end up being about the same price as Subthumps honestly if not slightly more. Of course I could make one. The hatch boxes are prefabbed but good quality as I made sure they were a decent box before I would list them.

Not to go againts KEE AUDIO's boxes but if you want more of a custom look try looking into a place called Subthump. Theo KEE AUDIO's boxes are much cheaper and better bang for the buck!

Yea you don't really have a choice with a pair of 12s... you aren't really "forced" into buying the dual 12 box that interferes with the racks - a little research might have prevented this.

The only way you will get more air out of a stealth box is using fiberglass and extending the box whichever way possible and as close as possible to the "terrain" - even then, mounting depth may be an issue for you, and you can only come out so far before that interferes with t-top storage as well.

Could always go dual 10s?

I agree that the Subthump enclosures are more of a custom look! They make an excellent product. Mine are a more basic enclosure with the exception of my stealth enclosures.

I got the subs and box with amp for an insane deal. friend of mine is selling it to me cuz she doesnt want it in the trunk of her lexus anymore. so i picked it up. i guess ill just have to save a lil bit for the subthump box.

Subthump used to make a box called, Millhouse. It replaces the factory fold-down divider. When you put the t-tops in the trunk, you fold over the box. I have one. It`s pictured in my thread on here, but not a detailed pic of it, though.

I made a box that holds 2 10's and my amp between the two.. It bolts down in the cargo hook holes once they're removed... You might want to consider making your own and fabbing it to sit there... I still have my entire trunk space.. Not sure if anyone already mentioned this type of box but I figured I'd throw it out there...

I fabbed one up awhile back for someone that sat up there for a single Fi10. It was ported. I had my amp in the way so use your imagination and the picture wasn't that great but here's what it looked like and where it was mounted. I took these pictures for reference. I think this is kinda what Slvr00Bird was refering to as far as location.

uhh...I can show you a way to do it I think. Are you wanting ported or sealed? also, what's the air space required?
