Default Need help installing pac swi-jack lol

Anyone who has installed this before in our cars please help! The instructions are so confusing, if anyone can list step by step in idiot proof terms on how to set this up with my alpine 9883 headunit it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have you tried a search? This has been discussed in great length on this site, so there is plenty of info on here about installing that unit. Good luck!

Interesting. I typed in Pac SWI-X in the search feature within this forum and 7 pages worth of info came up.

Well, not trying to be sarcastic, just trying to help you with the search feature. I see that I misread what you had posted. You want info for the wired remote setup. See that now, however, I`m out of this thread. Was going to help you, but....

Penta is right. It wires up to the car exactly like the SWI-X.. only difference is you plug the little plug into the back of the head unit, and then follow the programming instructions that same with the JACK.

It's 3 wires and a plug.

12v switched, ground, and the wire coming from the steering wheel controls, which I'm sure you've already found in the searches on the SWI-X.

yeah. You take some blue wire from your old harness and splice it with, I believe the GREEN wire of the PAC. So black, red, and green. You don't need any of the others. Then just plug in the minijack into the headunit, and you're good.

Programming is a little confusing, just make sure you HOLD the button until the light goes out. I just pressed it once and when I was all done, one tap of the volume up button made the headunit go to full volume.
