Default Radar detector hardwire - how to get top console off

Hello all,

I am trying to hardwire my radar detector so that it powers up with the car. I was thinking the best place to hook it up to for ignition switched power would probabaly be the sunroof switch, but I have no idea how to get that little plastic console off. There's one screw in the front towards the windshield, but taking that out didn't seem to help at all. What do I have to do?

Thanks,
Dan

Im guessing that you do not drive a f-body because you have a sunroof? But anyway..I found it easy to hook mine up on the radio fuse. Just wrap the hot wire around the fuse and stick the fuse back in. Then find a ground for the ground wire.

Nope, I have a 2001 Suburban. Hopefully thats welcome here, someone told me it would be a good place to ask. Anyway, I still have the problem of hiding the wire as I'm trying to mount the detector towards the top of the windshield. Any idea how that console piece comes off?

Thanks,
Dan

I would try posting in one of the truck formums, they'd probably be more familiar with the interior panels.
