Installed Bazooka Sail Panel Subs

Installed Bazooka Sail Panel Subs
I bought a set from Kee Audio, and just put them in. They fit into the stock hole without any mods except for a spacer (Which Ian so kindly provided) and fit pretty snug. I took off all the interior plastic around the hole, makes it much easier. The subs sound great. My system was completely stock (T/A Monsoon) before the subs went in, and it definitely improves the bass coming out of the system. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to add a little bass without replacing their entire system.

They give put out more bass period. The biggest issue for me is that the rest of the system is stock, so when I push the eq for more bass the other speakers start to distort. But honestly these little subs sound just as heavy as my friends 12's, no joke. They put out deep, rich bass. I cant wait to hear these when my new amp goes in. Right now theres no sound deadening, I just shoved some newspaper into all the gaps behind the speaker for now. Still sounds great. I havent heard the elemental subs yet, but I have a hard time believing they sound better than these.

The stock amp powers them very well, except at low volumes. I was sitting in a parking lot and they sounded louder than my friends 12's. Like I said the only issue is that the eq will raise the bass freq. across all the speakers, not just the subs, and that distorts the others, poor designing on GM's part imo. But overall im very impressed.

Aftermarket HU would fix those distortion problems. I used to get distortion on my stock speakers if I turned the volume up past half way with the bass turned up. Now, with and aftermarket HU, I can crank it 3x as loud as I've ever cranked it and I get no distortion out of the stock speakers. (minus sail panel subs, mine blew and i replaced them with a Kicker comp 10 with a 350W Kicker amp) But no distortion out of the other stock speakers.

Stock Camaro sail panel speakers are SVC 2-ohm. Stock Firebird sail panel speakers are DVC 4-ohm. Either way, replacing with a SVC 4-ohm speaker cuts the power approximately in half. But half the power isn't half the volume - it's only about a 3dB drop (noticeable but not a lot). Plus, if the replacement speaker is at least 3dB more sensitive then you lose nothing in volume.

Hi guys, the Bazooka subs are 4ohm dual voice coil subwoofers. Each coil is 4ohms just like stock. So these are a direct replacement for the Firebird/Trans Am Monsoon system when used with the 1/2" spacer. No additional drilling behind the sub is required.
I do have replacements for the Camaro as well. The Bazookas are available in a SVC version for that application. I also have several viable options for midbass drivers from CDT that work well in a SVC application. They are midbass drivers but have very good range and hit lower frequencies pretty well.

Awaiting a large shipment that should be in today or tommorrow at latest assuming everything goes as planned with SAS Bazooka. They shipped the wrong ones last week and I had to send all 40 of them back. I will post up as soon as these arrive. I still have several orders pending and want to wait to receive my shipment before accepting anymore orders on these. The GP pricing is over on them though as of the first week of this month. I actually had extended it into this month. Pricing is $119.00 shipped for the pair.
