DD or flipout???

I'm going to say neither for an F-body. The interior of our cars were not designed around such a thing. However, if I had to pick between them, a double DIN would look much better if the quality of the work done is very high.
I am a firm believer that nothing in a daily driver should jump out at you. No flashy radios, no huge subwoofer boxes, no crazy color schemes or carbon fiber. None of that. Aftermarket audio is fine if you generally follow the KISS ideal.

Few things you should know... flip out will block your air vents... and the gears in flip outs are made of plastic... once one strips itself... your fucked... you will have to manually grind and pull that thing out and shove it back in

Depends on fabrication skills. Double is the better of the 2 especially since they now have some tht have the CD slot on the front without being behind the screen. Reason I like this is less moving parts to break later. So if you can fabricate well then DD is the best choice. If you want the screen and the easiest installation...flip out is the way to go.

Definitely DD. I own a flip out. The block the vents thing is annoying in summer, and it also blocks my traction control switch. Everytime I want to turn the traction control off (which is everytime I drive the car), I have to lower the flipout and hit the switch, then raise the flip out again.
You can have the flipout raise and lower automatically when the car shuts off, but you still have to flip that switch quickly before it gets blocked off by the screen.
I will be purchasing the SLP traction control kit that turns it off by default because of this.

I have a Kenwood 7in flipout in my Z and love it. I've had it for 5 years now and just last week the detachable face just wore out enough to not keep contact and I had to send it out. I put in a JVC AVX2 which has the 3.5 LCD on the front panel din sized and its nice but the flipout is alot nicer. I dont use the vents in the front so I dont care about that. If you dont want to spend the extra money on the dd kit or make it yourself in the t/a then I would just do the flipout. I like the Kenwoods because they flipout the othr way. The screen never faces the floor and with the angle adjustments you can still reach the switches behind it when the screen is out. Just my .02 cents.
