Default Pioneer/ i pod problem HELP NEEDED

Over x mas i purchased a DEH-P4900IB for my fiance', and purchased the ipod adapter as well. Since i have installed the radio the ipod has worked flawlessly with the stero. Now the problem. All of a sudden the radio wont recognize the ipod, it says Ipod ready but you cant change through the songs like its made to be used. It still plays the song thats on the ipod but it isnt showing on the stero's display. Also the ipod gets extremely hot extremely fast now.

Any help in this matter would be greatly apreciated.

I've got the same stereo, try rebooting the I-Pod, that worked for me.

like brapril said, try a reset or an update on the ipod software. if that tests good, then move onto the ipod interface. did you get the cord or the box interface?
