Depends on if you have a Camaro or Firebird. Kicker makes a Comp VT sub in 6.5" but it's only available as an SVC, so it's good for Camaros. There is another DVC one out there for firebirds, but I can't remember who makes it. ED perhaps, but I think they need spacers or something.

Elemental Designs . . .

I've heard they are pretty decent, Whitebird has them I know. Maybe he'll chime in and give his impressions.

I do have other replacements but are not optimal for the DVC configuration. The eD is the only other DVC sub though that wires like stock for the Firebird Monsoon system. Installation requires a 1/2" spacer and drilling behind the sub. Otherwise you have to end up using a midwoofer that can still hit as low as 50hZ but would only use 1 pair of the 2 wires in the sails. This would result in about a 3db loss in audible volume.
The M-6 hits frequencies as low as 10hZ-5000hZ but would be best with an aftermarket amp.
If your considering the Kicker SVC woofers then the CDT SVC woofers would definetly be a consideration.

I too am looking for something good for the sails in my car, the stock monsoons are GONE. Never seen anything like the ED ones before. What does everyone else have in the sails?

I have the eD 7kv.2 subs in my sail panels. They are much better than stock although they won't replace a larger sub in a stealthbox or other box. As Ian said, a spacer is necessary because they are deeper than stock. The spacer should actually be a little less than 1/2" because that will make the speaker contact the trim panel. About 3/8" is the best thickness. According to eD, the hole behind the speaker is recommended but not necessary. I had a 1" hole saw from installing strobes so I used that to make the vent hole behind the speakers.

Thanks for the reply, Im not looking for anything spectacular, I dont listen to music loud or anything, I just want something to replace the factory crap.

I am also car stereo stupid, the only thing Ive done is put kappa 62.7's in the doors, what is this vent hole thing your talking about, and where would I get a spacer?

The voice coils on the back of the eD subs have a hole in the middle for ventilation. Because the magnet ends up being so close to the back wall (due to the deeper design of the speaker), the ventilation hole would be blocked so they recommend drilling a hole through the panel behind the speaker for air circulation.

I think Ian (Kee Audio) has spacers but many people just make them from MDF you can get at Lowes or Home Depot.
