Have to wake amp up on speaker level input

Have to wake amp up on speaker level input I have a stock monsoon setup for now. Eventually its going to come out and im putting in a high end setup. Right now I have 2 jl audio 12w3's in the trunk with a sony class D amp. The amp turns on and off with the car just fine, so i assume i have it wired up just fine, but in order to get it to amplify stuff, I either need to crank the volume really high or disconnect and reconnect the stereo input.
What can I do so that I don't have to crank my volume up all the way or unplug my input and plug it back in? It gets quite annoying.
I have the input wired off my rear sail panel speaker wires. I tried disconnecting the sail panel speakers but i get the same problem.
Once i wake it up, it works just fine until the car is shut off and turned back on.

If you are using the stock headunit, you can use the pink antenna wire as the remote turn on.
How do you have the amp turn on now? What is wired to remote turn on terminal of the amp?

As said in the first post, the amp power on just fine. Rem is off the pink already. The amp just won't start putting out signal until I unplug and replug it or crank it way loud on a high bass song. Then it works fine till the amp is powered off.
Also like I said its spliced into sail panel speaker.

If the remote turn-on is connected properly and you are having these problems, then something is wrong with the amp. Double-check the remote turn-on to make sure its firmly connected, not damaged, and has power when the headunit it on.
Also, how can you tell that the amp is on if it doesn't output any sound. Is there a light on it?

I spliced it on one of the hatch speakers and it seemed to work fine in the garage so I think im all set.
