Never got that far because I can't find a good way to mount the antenna. Any ideas there?

I have one of those Cobra all-in-the-handset CB radios with weather channels so I can't help much with where to mount a standard CB but I can help with the antenna. I have a no-ground-plane (NGP) antenna from FireStik that I mounted to replaced my factory AM/FM antenna. (It has to be NGP because we have no metal panels to mount a standard CB antenna.) Any NGP antenna will work but I found one with bottom load that is very sleek and looks like a factory antenna. I added FireStik's CB/AM/FM signal splitter so that I can have FM and CB from the same antenna (you lose AM when using an NGP antenna like this but who cares). DO NOT use one of those cheap AM/FM/CB splitters connected to a standard AM/FM antenna - they have a range measured in yards and could damage your CB.

I posted pictures and more information in a thread a couple of years ago: https://ls1tech.com/forums/wiring-stereo-electronics/374480-where-get-power-cord-old-cb-radio-putting-one-my-car.html.

Let us know how that works for you...considering that the hatch isn't metal so a magnet won't stick and there will be no ground plane.

oops forgot about that.

unbolt it from the glass, then you can use somthing to go under the panel to bolt the antenna to.
