So I was just down getting the wire harness for the TA and one of the Rep's up at Car Toy's asked me if I knew how to bypass the amp?
He said if I plugged my Alpine unit straight into it the stock Monsoon amp with the wire kit that the amp would clip the audio and not give me any sound, since the Alpine is powered and my stock one is a “dead” unit?

Anything I should know about or is he just trying to sell me an install up there?

Just trying to sell you an install. The Monsoon HU's are POWERED just like a standard radio. A standard GM harness will work just fine and a powered Alpine HU will work just fine with the rest of your stock Monsoon system.
