I was wondering how you wire an aftermarket amp for a sub to the factory head unit? I did a search but was unsuccessful. Any links or tips would be great.

For a factory headunit you will need a part that uses a pair of speaker wires into rcas. Its about 20-30 bucks. Then you just have to find the remote wire in the factory headunit i don't know which one it is.
You can run the amp wire through the fire wall after removing the car computer there will be a gromount and just past the wire through there.

Power wire for the amp is ran through the firewall just behind the PCM. There is a large grommet behind it.
To get a signal you use a hi/lo level converter which turns speaker level signal into low level. Some amplifiers also have speaker level inputs on them that sense when a signal is coming into the amp and use that as your remote turn on instead of having to run a seperate remote wire. This is actually how the stock Monsoon turns on.

Where is the best place to tap in to the speaker wire at with the converter. Ive heard you can tap into it right at the stock amp somewhere? Is that true? Plus where the heck is the pcm even at on these things? Passenger side by the firewall or where? I no dumb question but please help. Do you have to take the pcm out to get to the grommet?
