Default Door locks rattle.

I've narrowed down my biggest complaint / rattle in the front of my car. The doorlocks (the plastic pieces under the door handle) rattle like crazy. I think it's from taking my doors apart so many times.

Anyways, what are some good solutions to fixing this? I assume the best way to do this is to take the door panel off again (groan) and maybe use a ziptie to hold the rod up a little bit, so it is less likely to bounce around.. but I'm not 100% sure this is foolproof. (Don't want to take the door apart again if I don't have to)

are there any other ideas on how to stop this rattle, without putting so much friction on the rod/plastic piece to where the doors no longer unlock themselves.

Maybe the rods are slightly bent, if they are bent them a little. Also try spraying some liquid electrical tape on the back side of the plastic piece (let it dry first) then remount it over the rod. And be prepared for it to be a little harder to reinstall but it does help, it did for me!

For me, it's not the black piece to the rod.. that's a tight fit. it's the up and down / back to front movement that needs to be restrained

so your saying the plastic piece is loose on the rod? if so magyver a bushing for it to take up the slack. like a small piece of vacum line or some tape or even som cheap silicone and let it dry before you use it?

good luck
