Amp not powering up (new install)
Amp not powering up (new install) Sorry to keep bugging you guys, but I've got another issue with my system install. I've got a Pioneer amp powering my stealth box sub, and the amp is not turning on with the system. Using a volt meter, it is getting the same voltage as the battery, so I would think it must be either a fuse on the amp (looked fine), a setting in the JVC unit (can't find anything), or the remote wire. I connected the remote wire (from the amp) to the blue/white wire coming off the JVC head unit that was labeled "remote out". Is this correct? Is there anything else to check? I'm out of ideas.

Does that remote wire on the back of the radio connect to the yellow wire on the stock harness. If not try connecting to the pin for the yellow wire on the stock harness, not the harness adapter. The yellow wire on the stock harness is ignition controlled power and will turn the amp on and off with the turn of the key assuming everything else is right which sounds like it is.
Others can use the pink wire in some instances which is the power antenna wire but the JVC unit turns the antenna off when switched out of radio mode which will effectively turn your amp off also so you can't use that.
I'm pretty sure that's your problem!

We got it working! The remote line was cut/damaged somewhere along the way when he installed it. He tested it with his volt meter and determined that there was 12volt power going to the remote turn on wire in the rear of the unit but no power between that and the amp. Gave him a call when I saw this posted to see if I could help (he bought the system from me), he's up and running!
