Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I've had the car for 20yrs now. Over the years it served as my daily driver and race car. With the last motor the car ran 12.9 @ 104mph. I haven't had it to the track with the new motor, but on the chassis dyno it made 373HP and 408TQ and pulls to 7500rpm. Currently the car is undergoing a full restoration, hope to finish it this year.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
355 sm block chevy motor with 6" rods. Fully blueprinted motor. Balanced lightened rotating assembly. Crower street roller cam, .597/.620 lift. Ported and flowed World Products heads, 2.07/1.60 valves. Ported/matched Weiand Team G manifold. Modified Holley Dbl pumper 750 carb. MSD ignition/wires. 1 3/4 cermacoat Hooker headers, 3" Hooker Supercomp mufflers and exhaust. Built turbo 350 trans, 3500 10" stall, w/ Gear Vendors OD unit. Functional cowl induction hood w/ factory type cowl induction air cleaner. 12 bolt 3.73 posi rear.
Suspension Modifications:
Moroso front drag springs, 90/10 and 70/30 shocks. Landrum drag race mono leaf springs, with Comp Engineering(Cal-Trac type) traction bars. Polyurethane front and rear bushings and body mounts. Completely rebuilt front end. Removed both sway bars.
Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Currently 28 x 10.5 Mickey Thompsom Sportsman Pro rear tires on Weld 15x8 rims, Front are matching 28 x 6.5 size.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Factory type restoration, with some mods. Autometer dash mount gauges fitted into factory gauge pod and behind dash lens for a factory type appearance. Factory shifter modified with a custom shift plate to allow it to function as a lock out type "gated" shifter for positive 1-2 and 2-3 shifts. 3 point seat belts. Custom front mono speaker conversion plate to house twin 4" Infinity speakers with enclosed/baffled rear enclosure. Pioneer 4way 6x9 rears running off an aftermarket "factory look" head unit. Complete "dyna mat" like acoustic mat applied to every nook and cranny. I used a product called Brown Bread, same specs and 1/3 the cost. I am also adding additional insulation to the interior and backs of all the plastic panels.
Future Modifications:
Install factory rims with BFG radials, keeping the Welds for the track. Replace suspension with one that handles. I will be moving to NC in a few years and want to enjoy carving up the country side roads. Where I live now is almost all straight, flat roads so I can get away with what I have for now, the rear tires rub the wells around a few curves here. Fuel injection, some form of carb replacement type unit, haven't decided yet. Read more ยป
