Cleaned the bores up a bit.. diesel & trans fluid mixed with some kind of pad my buddy had. His suggestion. It cleaned up bores looked good and he put a dial indicator on crank and it had 0 play in it

The guy said it was losing small amounts of coolant but never made it to the ground.. didnt see any puddles.. I was worried when I seen this but my buddy did a further investigation

Nothing on front or back of cam, instead the numbers and letters are engraved on the cam itself. The other numbers read 323A3 and 23:34B. 315(0 or Q) 2

I finally got the 4.8 home where I can work on it. I think this maybe a crack, Its wet here by the sensor.( I think the cam sensor or oil pressure) it smells like antifreeze...

The bellhousing was the same as this one. It looked just like a ls style 4l60e with removable bellhousing but the bolt holes different. I dont know if the input shafts are same length.

Is this engine worth installing? This is another 5.3 I already own. Guy I got it from said it came out Tahoe with bad trans with 120k. He claimed to have ran it and said no obvuous signs of problems.

On the valves im using a stainless steel wire wheel. I was thinking I may grind them down to far. Im basically placing the valves in a regular hand drill turning them and using the dewalt at the same time

Ok. Yea I seen the lil suction cup tool thingy on youtube video. Well I hope these valves work. Its about the best that can be done i think
