1. The Monkees (1966)

The modified GTO stars in this 1966-68 television series The Monkees. The custom Pontiac, nicknamed Monkeemobile, was designed by Dean Jeffries and was created purposely for the program.

2. Two-Lane Blacktop (1971)

This drama is about a Mechanic and Driver cruising from town to town in order to race their Chevy. Along the way they meet the Pontiac GTO Judge and end up on a cross-country race with the driver of the GTO, who is played by Warren Oats.

3. McQ (1974)

Within a story of a crime drama is the '73 Pontiac Trans Am. The movie, starring John Wayne, follows a detective in his journey to investigating the murder of his friend as well as a corrupted police department in his green Pontiac.

4. The Rockford Files (1974)

This 1974-80 mystery crime follows an ex-con turned into a private detective. The car of choice for Jim Rockford, played by James Garner, is the gold Firebird Esprit. This Pontiac was updated many times, so what started as a '74 later became a '78. 

5. Cannonball (1976)

Cannonball, also known as Carquake!, is about a secret Coast to Coast race across America. Coy 'Cannonball' Buckman, played by David Carradine, drives none other than the blazing red 1970 Pontiac Trans Am

6. Smokey and the Bandit (1977)

This action comedy is about a man illegally transporting beer and finding himself running from a sheriff. This 70's movie stars Burt Reynolds, the Bandit, next to the 1977 Firebird Trans Am.

7. Hooper (1978)

It seems like action/comedy and Burt Reynolds has a heart for the Pontiac since this 70's action comedy film featuring Reynolds also features the Trans Am. Burt Reynolds plays Sonny Hooper, an aging Hollywood stuntman trying to prove that he still got what it takes.

8. Knight Rider (1982)

There are many things that came out of the 80's, and Knight Rider is one of them. This 1982-86 television show featured Hasselhoff alongside his artificially intelligent supercar KITT, a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am.

9. Death Race (2008)

If you were one of the few people who actually enjoyed the 2008 Death Race, and went ahead to watch the second and third, then you know the Pontiac was featured in all of them. In the first Death Race, the 1979 Pontiac Trans Am made an appearance.

10. Fast Five (2011)

The Fast and the Furious franchise is synonymous with cars. If you weren't a fan before, then this movie surely made you into a car fanatic. And if anything made you want to get the Pontiac Trans Am, it was seeing it in action in this movie.
