Chevy Bel-Air Wheelies Anyone?

When you think of wheelies, it would be natural for your mind to wander over to the world of motorcycles. They’re relatively low weight, high horsepower, and ability for the rear to be pushed down easily makes riding a wheelie on a motorcycle extremely simple.

A wheelie however in a car, isn’t as easy to pull off . Cars fronts are much heavy than their rears. This means that they don’t tend to pop up as easily as bikes do. That is however unless you’re pumping crazy amounts of power and torque through the rear wheels.

If that’s the case, the car will pop up like Punxsutawney Phil on Groundhog Day. And that’s exactly the case with Rick Johnson’s 1960 big body Chevy Bel-Air. It seems even a boat can fly at times.

As you’ll see in the video below, the Bel-Air comes up, stays there for a while, then slams back down almost sending the big car into the wall. Thankfully, the driver saved it and the Bel-Air was saved. Check it out, it’s crazy what this car can do.
