Today at work my buddy tell me his friend seen my car and wants to race me after work. Im like ok whats he got. He tells me its a bone stock 1999 cobra. So i was like sure why not, figuring id have no problem shutting him up. After work i head out to my car and theres a couple guys waiting and i see a black mustang that has primed front and rear bumpers along with a primed spoiler. Then i see a gauge pod and start to ask questions when the guy goes, how about we race for $100 bucks. I knew something was up so i asked him to pop the hood and refused so i tell him to rev it because he's still claiming its a 1999 no supercharged cobra. Once he rev's it i hear the supercharger and told him what the hell I'll race for $20 bucks for gas. We get on the highway doing about 60 and he honks. I dropped it down to second and hung with him til third then he jumped out about 3-5 cars haha. We pull in a gas station and he pops the hood. What happened next i never seen coming. He goes, yeah i figured you'd beat my car so i borrowed my friends 03 cobra and the passenger goes yeah its mine. So i handed over the $20 and was kinda pissed.

Then there friend with an 04 mach 1 pulls up and wants to race. I said sure what the hell. The first run was from about 45-130ish i pulled about 1 1/2 cars and stayed that way. The second run he was about a car length ahead and hits it without honking and stays a good 2 cars ahead. The 3rd run he just goes again but i was ready this time, reeled him in by 3rd and pulled maybe 1/2 a car. His claimed mods were longtubes, x pipe, catback, cold air intake, and METH INJECTION lol. I thought this was just for cars with intercoolers??? Either way it was a good night and this just makes me want to throw my gears, stall, and cam in sooner.

 

how could you confuse a terminator for a 99 cobra?

 

I knew it was an 03 but the kid swore it was a 99. So pretty muchi knew what i was getting into. Even at full throttle you could barely hear the s/c. The past couple i've raced the s/c was screaming.

 

By looking at it you couldnt really tell it was like a mustang inbreed. Saleen style spoiler, Cobra back bumper, Saleen Front bumper, the hood looked like the type r hood. They were all still primer gray. I've ran across plenty of gt's with full out saleen body kits or cobra kits but you find out when you race.

 

No biggie, they can't be beaten anyway.

 

I wanted an 03-04 cobra so bad. I still do. I will have one sooner or later. Hopefully sooner. Couldn't find one around here in decent shape with low miles for the right price. No shame in losing and good kill on the mach.

 

Nice kills bro. Seems the Mach owner was a bit of a tool. I can only see Meth injection as a benefit when you have FI. It cools the charge to reduce detonation, and you would really have no need for it on an NA car. Unless of course a blower is in his future.

meth helps on n/a cars, but the gains on a stock compression engine are pretty small

wow that really stinks. I love when people have to take other people's cars just to race someone after they talk smack haha. That's why I have a few friends with fast roll race cars for when they wanna play that. Nice to see you took the death and were still a man to pay. Throw them parts on or some FI of your own and go back at it.
