Slumaro goes in the 11's
Done a lot of work on the Camaro aka the Slumaro. This is the thread from last year when it was mostly stock
https://ls1tech.com/forums/12-second...stock-98z.html
The car took somewhat of a transformation this winter and spring. Most under the hood and under the car. Engine ended up getting a full engine rebuild by Shawn at PRT after it developed a knock late last year. Not terrible but the rod bearings were showing there age so it was sooner or later. Rebuilt trans also while everything was apart. Finally got it done and took it out the other night and made 4 passes.
Mods are Yank 4k, Tick 223/227 cam, ls6 intake, stock heads cleaned up, TSP headers and y pipe into hooker (sorta) catback. Chris1313 ram air, ported TB, MWC front end components, Viking coilovers, UMI Tq arm and Tick battery relocation. On 17" Nitto nt05r's
Had some trouble finding the right launch with the nitto's as they don't like the Yank 4k stall at all. Gonna invest in something else soon. Also the differential seems to be coming to the end of its life. Gonna put some more gear in it and raise the shift points up. Maybe a better air lid and 85mm maf. Hope to hit 10's b4 the end of the year!

Thanks fellas! Dropped around 125-150lbs off the front of the car and moved the battery to the back. I have street lites on the front which dropped 12lbs a side and z06 wheels on back for now.

Yep I was just happy with cracking the 11's the first time out. Thanks again Martin for help spec'n the cam. It sounds pretty mild as I wanted to keep it somewhat stock sounding but I think the big headers and y pipe are what give it away the most. Love the Tick battery relocation too!

I ordered some 15's and the new Mickey et street r's. Picked up a rear with 410's and true track a few months ago. Gonna try and get it all on and ready to take back to the track next weekend

Well I finally got back to the track. Changed to 410 gear, 275/50/15 Mickey R's, FAST 92/92 and put it back on the dyno.
Started launching at 1500 and moved up a bit each time. Last 2 runs I opened the cutout
Real happy with it, Need to adjust the 2-3 shift some more since it was tapping the limiter. DA was 2100

Thanks fellas! I am still amazed at the potential at these ls1 cars with a mix of the right mods. Still have a few tricks up my sleeve also. Had 1/2 tank of gas in it last time at track and still have full interior. Love to add some strange brakes up front and a lightweight hood. Any more suggestions are welcome. Like to hit 10.60's-.70's this fall with good air.

Yea man Martin will spec you out a cam to make good power. Plan to change mine out this winter for a big nasty cam but driving the car some this week it really drives nice and easy with the small cam.
