Default What is it going to take to get 11.99

I am doing something wrong, probably a lot wrong. I cannot get around 12.6 @ 120mph. My 60ft are crap 2.3 seconds, but best reaction was .192

Given my 120 mph should I be running 11s??? Can I do this on my factory tires...

um-120mph= 11.5-11.7 with good traction. buy some ******* tires for christ sake!

if you do not want to sacrifice handling, there are some options out there (you have to do the research), but what you should really do is get another 2 back wheels and mount some mickey t drag radials/ et streets/ drags.

Given my power level and lets say a set of Mickeys am I going to pop my rear-end on the first launch???

Then it is going to take a rear and a slick and you will be mid to low 11's

well- put it this way. don't DROP the clutch and i don't think the rear will break. you can get your car to launch hard without breaking ****, but it could always launch harder- you just are smart enough to know that the rear cannot handle it.

just to throw this in there- .1 in the 60ft = .2 in the 1/4, you are at 2.3 60ft and 12.6 1/4. 1.7 60ft= 11.4 . maybe not exact but pretty damn close from my experience. i can't see it breaking with a 1.7 60ft...

Just like everyone else said, you have the mph for somewhere in mid to low 11's but just need to get it to the ground. Get some sticky tires and make some runs determining how hard to launch it. Good luck.

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like if I could get my 60ft to 2.0 seconds then I could break into the 11s, that is really my goal...

Are we saying no way on street tires???

Yeah...but that 1st to 2nd shift can be mighty rough on the rear end too...Doesn't really matter if you drop the clutch or not. If you're hooking the 1st to 2nd shift on sticky tires, you're taking your chances.

You and I are in the same boat! I just now posted the same thing happening to me and a couple of buddies. Please let me know what you find out and I'll do the same.

those trap speeds will come down with a better 60ft. and your rear will go pop with a better 60ft.

Your rear won't necessarily go with a hard launch, I tore my DS into 3 pieces before the Rear went. I cut multiple 1.7x 60's with a stock rearend before I went 12 bolt.

Did you cut 1.7 with factory tires...??? I am trying to hit 11.99 with Goodyear GSD3s, factory sizes...

you are making enough power to trap at 120.. you are lucky that the rear hasn't gone already... buy a rear and a d.s. and a set of slicks already... enough with this factory tire crap. Show me one real reace car series that makes you run factory tires...... tires are everything on every race car, no matter what power, type, etc.

Wanna run with the men... get a man's tire!

You should absolutely be able to turn 11’s on your street tires. I have a very similar setup and I was able to do it on the run-flats. The tires you’re running are WAY better than the run-flats. You should be able to get low 1.90 sixty foots with your tires.

Also don’t speed shift. You will just spin more and go slower.

Your rear should hold up with the street tires. If you go with the M/T’s you should install a hardened output shaft in the rear. Then you shouldn’t have any problems.

Taking a week or two of vacation will come back, swap cam, and start going to the track every Tueasday and Thursday nights. Hopefully I can figure out way to cut my 60ft....
