Default 11's with a 6 speed

Would it be possible for me to hit 11's with my car?
seems like auto guys can get 11's with just some sticky tires, exhaust, and a stall....and it takes an act of god for a 6 speed to get them.

I will be adding a torque arm, lower control arms w/ relocation brackets, and bfg drag radials 275/40/17.

I want em bad.

Takes some skill on the launch for an M6 to see 11's. Skip the BFG's, get some 15" MT DR's and skinnies, and start looking for a 9".

How do all you guys runs 15" wheels on the back, do you have to modify your brakes or does it clear them?

bogarts will clear, weld wheels need some grinding, but no big deal.

The bfg's are really my only choice....the car is my daily driver.
I dont go to the track much...so getting an extra set of rims with slicks is just kind of dumb for me. And I would also like it to hook up on the street....as I race on it from time to time

And I think im taking a big enough risk with the 10 bolt on the 17 inch bfg's.

So with the set-up I mentioned....are 11's out of the question?

I don't see it happening. I run on 16" ET streets with a 4.11 and got a best of 12.19 and that was going easy on the launch trying to not to break the 10 bolt. But the next time out it broke.
What is your best time so far?
You would have to come out of the hole at like 5K and dead hook.
I would say mid 12's maybe. Good luck though.

Only time I ever ran my car (not even on a track) I g-tech'd my car when I first got it. IT only had a lid and cat back at the time. I think I ran a 13.1-13.2.
Havent tried anything since the mods started.

Damn....your only gettin low 12's with about the same power levels as me....on a 1.7 60 foot....also, you got 390 to the wheels without an ls6 intake? I bet your 12.19 run would have been an 11.9 or better with the ls6 and a re-tune.
They are a nice gain when you have cam and headers.....at least it was for me. The car pulls much better up top. Not much low end gain though. About 4000 rpm and up.

I dont see 11's happening

Ill wait till this fall and go on a real cold day....maybe that will help.

you have 2 overdrives, why do you have a 3.73? lol. 4.10 and you should hit 11's w/ good driving. i mean, the best launch possible on the bfg's, and shifting right at the best spot, and powershifting that mo fo. if you don't like powershifting, then go home. lol. j/k. i think it's possible. i say go to a track and make sure you're g-tech is accurate. ... when my car was still a 6spd i daily drove it w/ a 4.10. it wasn't that bad on gas.

it should be possible the only problem is traction . and some mt ets will take care of that just be careful of the 10 bolt . hell i ran 8.3 in the 1/8(no 1/4 tracks around here) stock with et streets now im gonna spray 100 and the rest of my mods , my only prob is my 10 bolt but if it brakes ohh well gives me an excuse to buy a 9in and the wifey cant say much then lol.

Met a kid yesterday at Fontana, who ran 11.7 with "just a 150 shot", a M6 with 3:42's, and M/T drag radials on the 16 inch Z/28 factory wheels. He was easing off the line at @2300, an spraying from the start. Dont even think he had LCA's, and the interior wasnt gutted either...if I hadnt seen that car and several other M6 cars w/spray hittin 11's, I wouldve been doubtful.

I went with 3.73 for the gas mileage. But mainly because I hear that the 4.10 gears will actually make the 10 bolt even weaker. Another was because my auburn posi went bad and I got an eaton posi. Found a real good deal on the 3.73 gears and figured Id throw them in for good measure. Dont have time for a dyno tune yet as well....and my speedometer wont be so far off either.
When I go with my 100-150 shot....I didnt want to be shifting into 5th. I think I would be faster on the 3.73 gears with my 100 shot....compared to the 4.10's.
Lastly....I have a hard enough time with traction....and I figured I would lose more races on the street with my 4.10's and street tires than I would with the 3.73.

its possible, im only .01 away from 11's

i broke my Diff in my 10 bolt, i was on stock clutch and rear w/ the 3.42s
its all about learning to shift fast and launching hard but soft.

I launched from 4500 slipping the clutch to hit a 1.83 60 on my 12.01 run my best 60' is a 1.81 this was all on the new style BFGs g-force...I love them

im saving for a 12 bolt w/ 4.10s and i have a clutch that i need to install
w/ that im looking for 11.6/7 and get on the SI list then a cam and get on that list

im 3480 w/ me in the car daily driven still 26 mpg

After the 9" I ran 11.90 @ 116.xx the first pass out. Then I later sprayed it and went 11.45 @ 122.21. So now I'm pleased. I thought I would lose a little with the 9", hell I went better. May be the power got to the ground bette I dunno.

I ran a 12.2 spinning and it was over 90 degrees out and full humidity. Mods in sig. 11's are possiblke with an M6, once I get some drags ill be in 11's
