Default 12's next trip?

I've run a best of ET of 13.0@106.9 and MPH of 13.1@107.6 so far. The first run was on a pretty bad day for air (~1800 DA), and the next day was even worse. The first time I had all the same mods as not, but with a catback and no tune. The second day I had 2.5" true duals (x pipe), but still no tune. Now my car has had a tune from GLM in Kokomo (who did a great job btw), and the car feels awesome now compared to before. I'm 99% sure I'll be in the 12's next trip now since it's getting a bit cooler already and I have the tune, but I have one more thing to throw in that i'm not sure how it will affect it. I have a Yank SS3600 stall sitting in my garage right now that I will probably have in before the next trip to the track, but there is a catch. I will still be driving on the stock tires so my launch won't really be much better (I get 2.0s now with a best of 1.998). How much do you think the tune and stall are going to help me out on stock tires? Will I end up in the 12's now? If so, how far?

Thanks . I can't wait to get to the track....

How will the stall change my time if I'm still on the same tires (original eagle f1s)? That's all I don't know about :/. Obviously my launch won't be any better since i already got a really high 1.9 out of them, but how much will it help down the track?

How much will the stall take off of ET on the same tires? Any?

I would put some drag radials on with that stall or you will just spin.

After installing some bolt ons i noticed my first few runs were not as good as i would expected. I started inspecting and looking for a problem then i found it. The problem ended up being my air filter. Its a k and n and when i cleaned it i gained 2 tenths in the 1/4 and 1 tenth above that running no air filter.

thats one of the funniest things i have read on ls1tech...

Hey Speedmonster, what was your 1/8th time on that 13.0? Just curious

I'd say you're pretty much garanteed 12's with some good tires...

Hmm... let me go find my slips....

Ok, these are all the times from my 13.0 run.
Reaction +.1821
60' 1.9980
1/8 ET 8.4509
1/8 MPH 85.87
1000' ET 10.9318
1/4 ET 13.0407
1/4 MPH 106.96

I just found out my car club is heading to ORP on this coming tuesday so i'll be heading to the track again in a few days. The converter isn't in yet, but this will be a good judge of what my new duals and tune got me before the converter. That time was with the Hooker and no tune (and much worse air than it will probably be this time), so this time I'm hoping for 12.8-9@108-9 if I'm lucky. That may be too optimistic though. We'll see. I'm excited about breaking the 12s though if I can do it. It will be a first for me .

You have the answer in the garage. Put the stall speed in and borrow some drag raidals. You will be in the 12' for sure. We'll be waiting to welcome you into the club.

Tune alone should net you 12's easy. Been back to the track yet? Any updates?

Not yet, it ended up raining the day we were going down there . I'm pretty sure I'll be going to the SCC night at US41 on the 5th though, so i should have a couple times to update . Hopefully better than the last ones. lol

Bad weekend at the track, ran 3 passes 13.03, 13.02, and 13.01 with air filter in and 91oct. Took the air filter out and ran 12.86@108.24. got the slips to prove it.

Wow, that pretty impressive. My goal with this car's times are to see exactly what it could run on the street though, not the best it would run at the track. So taking the filter out won't be an option, or buying track only slicks. I want the car to be identical to what I drive around with every day. I guess I'll probably find out this friday if I go to 41.

Boy I tell you, somebody doesn't want me to be getting 12's. lol. As you can see down below, the first full bolt-on's run I made was 13.0@106, with so-so air for around here. I thought maybe I would get it after my duals, but noooo. The air went from 1800 to 2200, but I still managed to get my mph up a bit and ran a 13.1@107. Then I just went last friday, and was disappointed that I couldn't run in the 12's. It was a strange night though for some reason, everyone said they were running a bit slower than normal. I was more consistent than normal (maybe the tune helped that?) I made 4 runs before I stopped to just watch the SCC guys run. Out of all of my runs, my best was 13.0@106 again, and my very worst all night was a 13.1@106. I just now checked what the DA was that night, only to find out it was even worse again. It was just about 2500 this time... So somebody is trying to keep me from getting 12's by making the weather just slightly worse each time I do something to hopefully bump me under 13s. haha... Now for the converter and tires.... The only thing that can keep me from it then will be snow on the ground....
