Yeah i did it with a frozen boost ic!
To Whom It May Concern:
This is a testimonial with respect to a frozen boost front mount intercooler set-up I tried on my 275 drag radial car for the 2010 racing season. I thought you might want to hear some feedback that could possibly may make or break a racer on a budget and has any question on if he can run fast or not.
My plan was to budget what I could on my car and see what performance I could achieve with this intercooler. My combo is a 1990 Ford Mustang coupe with stock suspension. I run on a small 275 tire on 1/8 mile track. My engine is an LS based motor, 370cube, running factory 03 truck manifold for turbo headers, factory 317 truck heads with some slight port work, and I am using a factory 6.0 LS based crankshaft with a 88mm Garrett turbo. I am using front mount 3 in and out intercooler and have achieved my personal best of 5.62 at 130.62 mph with a 1.33 60ft at 3,250 pounds. I finished the car in early April 2010 and have tested and raced several events to get the car dialed in this year. I have won two 275 races and qualified in the top 3 and made it to finals on the other races. I have one more race this weekend to finish out the season with this combo. I believe I have pushed the intercooler to its potential and will have to step-up to a water to air intercooler and 4 inch in-and-out pipes for next year to produce more of what I think car is capable of. I see a lot of posts here and there concerning the need of a high dollar intercooler to do the job. I just wanted to pass this information on to let everyone know that I have no complaints about this product and/or the horsepower it is handling and highly recommend it. Thanks hope this helps.

It dead heat I have seen temps at high of 132 so far and cooler weather as low as 105 to 115 on top end. And as post states I run 1/8 mile in my area, so do not have any data to argue with on 1/4 mile runs. Not here to argue who has better ic out there. Just wanted to let some people know who are on a budget that this ic can be ran and have great results with great Hp results!

And as far as pre ic temps your average guy is not logging those temps and or cares what they are if they have already purchased there if anyway. But there again not disagreeing there is not a better front mount out there for sure. but there again most are not running 130 in the 1/8 mile either so fo your average street car there should not be an question this ic will work great!

I have ran both the big and small ebay intercoolers in my drag fiero. The large one is designed incorrectly (the end tanks are not divided, and it basically prevents any water flow through the core). I currently have this large one in my drag car, and it was modified to flow from one end tank to the other (I blocked one of the stock holes, and tapped a new one on the other side).
I see 8-10 degrees C above ambient at the end of a 1/4 run using a bosch pump and no ice in the water box. I am making about 750hp on a PT6776, and do about 140mph on the big side of the 1/4 mile on low boost.
