The BLUE valve springs that came with the GM Hot Cam......
...are supposed to be from the 2001 LS6 and will be able to handle the 0.525" lift. Will they be able to handle the 0.556" lift when I install my Crane 1.8 R/R?? (I already have them so don't tell me I shouldn't buy them. )
Did the 2001 LS6 have smaller lift than the 2002?
Presumably the 2002 LS6 springs will work well.
If you happen to know if the GM ASA cam will work with these R/R without needing cut-outs I'd be glad to hear one way or another (I'm guessing maybe not).
It's not a daily driver.
Cheers

The '02 LS6 cam had more lift. Without looking it up (SEARCH BUTTON) I believe it was about ~.550 compared to ~.525 for the earlier LS6 cam. I was told that the late model LS6 springs are good for as much as about ~.580.

it has the same lift as the hot cam, do yourself a favor and put in better springs to start with that way cam swaps will be just that cam swaps and not cam and springs which are a PITA.the lift on the ASA cam is .525

Oops, sorry. I read the wrong lift. Yes, the later model ls6 springs will work with the .556 lift, but like said, do yourself a favor and get some real springs.
Colonel, I'll guarentee you ls6 springs aren't good up to .580 lift because I found out the wrong way.
