Installing a Ls3 engine into a 1977 Trans Am
Im in the process of installing a LS3 engine into my 1977 Trans Am .. what all would i need to remove from the trans am??? and what do i need to buy in order to make it fit....would i need a stronger axle?? suggestions are appreciated.........dont wanna spend the six figures for the YearOne Bandit, Prefer to do it myself

theres a bunch of us doing these swaps, but what you're going to need is
-motor mount adapters
-motor and trans
-wiring harness and pcm
-exhaust
-new fuel tank with a FI pump, or a tanks inc pump
-vats removed
and than whatever else u wanna do to ur car. idk if anyone has done an ls3 yet, but there has been a few ls2's, a bunch of ls1 and vortech swaps.

Your car should have the factory posi unit already, run that. Stock axles are stronger than you would think. Add c-clip eliminators if anything but, if this isn't a race car and running 10's, I wouldn't worry about any of it other than having the posi.(or as GM called it "limited-slip diffriential") The "Corporate 10 bolt" that was put in our 2nd Gen's didn't get any love because the 1st, 3rd and 4th Gen 10 bolts are weak, hence the stigma. They're pretty stout, especially with aftermarket parts. Keep us posted.

thats my 1977 trans am with a 455 carburated engine....cant wait to remove it and put in a ls3 i just need to know what exactly to add to it and remove how much do yall think i would spend if i had a shop do it?
