Custom center console & radio bezel
I switched to the trans am console and noticed the gap between it and the radio bezel so I wanted to extend the bezel down to close the gap and at the same time make a home for my pioneer f500bt which is a portable navi unit that can be paired with a phone and hardwired into the car.
Here's how I started with radio. I cut the bottom out of the bezel and made a simple frame out of fiberglass...
I changed the design a few times why I don't know maybe because nobody was there to tell me to stop
This is the radio bezel finished..
Now for the center console I had to get a bit creative to figure how I was gonna pull this off, so I glassed the ash tray hole and cut a slot for my iphone, kinda slick but I didn't stop there. I bought an iphone dock and mounted it so the phone sits high enough to where it doesn't affect my shifting and I can still see the name of who's calling. The phone dock is connected to the navi and the navi is connected to the amps so everything works together...
And the gauge underneath the bezel is a scangauge 2 which works pretty good.

The phone holder does have a charger underneath and I'm going to place a chrome ring on the edge of the hole because it does look unfinished. The thing underneath the navi is a scangauge 2 it reads and clears engine codes, shows mpg, iat, open loop, map and can even calculate horsepower along with a bunch of other readings from the PCM

I ended up using duplicolor gloss black spray paint and the duplicolor paint shop clear coat. I've been wanting to try the paint shop system for a while, you can get it at most auto parts stores and its already pre mixed so its convenient. It's not the best clearcoat but it still turned out really good for what it is.

After the body work was done I sanded with 400 grit sandpaper, cleaned the pieces with a prep spray to get rid of oils and dirt, let it dry wiped it down with a tack rag then sprayed a primer sealer then the black spray paint and finally the clear was sprayed with an hvlp gun.
