Fastest street cars in Texas
#7
And those who want to be the fastest street legal cars in Texas will be at HMP! If you want the title, you have to win the race. As we announced in September, HMP will be crowning that title each month this year and a year end champion at end of season.

Shame on HMP for trying to provide a safe racing event for street cars.

No offense to you, we all understand what your doing trying to make a "safe" environment for everyone.
Yes we are stupid for racing 1000+ hp cars on the street in the middle of the night when grandmas asleep.
But for you to claim that YOU guys can decide WHOS the street "King" at YOUR track thats NOT even close to street prep/environment is just stupid. Racing on a track has NOTHING what so ever to do with the street. Sure it isn't "safe" but when has it ever been? You can get killed just as easily on a race track like on the street.
I have seen 500 cars stomp the **** out of 800 hp cars because they cant get traction. Who do you claim king of the street the 500 hp car or the 800 hp car? Obviously not the 800 hp because he lost... Now if you go to the track whos the obvious victor there hands down the 800 because its prepped for RACING not street.
Just kinda dumb imo that a "Street King" title can be claimed on a prepped race track, safe or not. Everyone racing involved knows the risks that need to be taken to race on the street, some guys have too much power and do not know how to drive and the others are smart enough. Whens the last time you have heard of a 1500+ hp lambo wrecking on I-10 because they were too "stupid" to realize the power of the car or the safety of the road? Never.
The "TRUE" street king is usually decided at TX2k and not on a track or dyno.
Anywho, good luck with your event and crowning the uh... "Racetrack King"
