biggest MT drag radial on non minitubbed camaro???
What is the biggest MT drag radial i can run with a stock rearend width non minitubbed camaro???? 4th gen, madman offset lca's, spohn torque arm, qa1 shocks, wolfe swaybar....
I was thinking the 315/60 would be the biggest but then someone told me the 325/50 would fit.....
Previously I had 28x10.5W tires on the car and they fit fine (I've cut the rear skirt near the back of the wheelwell for clearance... The rims are 15x10" Bogarts with 7.5" backspace...

Yeah I just noticed that the 315 is a 30" tall tire and the 325 is a 28" tire so it seems that the 325 would fit before the 30 would.. i had it backwards... that's fine cuz i ran a 28" slick adn I don't want to kill my gear and would like to keep it geared the same.... think it'll fit if the 28x10.5W fit????

the 315/60 wont fit unless you mini tub, but the 325/50 will. the 325/50 is just a hair smaller than a 28 10.5w and 315/60 is 30'' tall, so you should just be able to throw a 325/50 in there without any more clearancing
prostockjohn has some pics of his formula with the 325/50 dr and a 28x10.5w tire if you want to see the difference

Yeah I'm gonna pull the trigger on the 325's..... They might not be enough on everything i've got but they'll definitely handle the motor.... might need to look to options when i spray both kits (then i'll go to a full slick i guess or minitub and go to the 315)... thanks guys.

Lot of guys run the 325s, just have to beat the inner fenders and cut the bump stops of if you want the rear to be able to hang on jackstands or a lift.
I have a 315/60 here and it will take some bodywork (on a TA anyway) to fit, its a tall tire. The 325/50 is a little shorter then a 28" ET drag but its pretty wide.

I went from 28W's to 325 DR's on the Formy, and they fit fine, like someone already said, the 325's are a hair narrower.
They work different than the 28W's, so when you get them on post back up. But the DR's feel great going down the track, I feel like I'm on the highway racing jacking around at 150mph.... talk about stable.

Yeah I will. I have always been a full slick guy that wasn't afraid to run em down near 13psi and lower so i'm sure i'll love having a nice stable tire going down track... I had some hairy experiences with full slicks a few times at 120+....

Could you please take some more photo's of the car from the side, and with the tire off if at all possible, so that we can see what you did to get that in there, or at least tell us? I'd LOVE to put that big boy on, but I know there's gonna be a body guy involved, be nice to have some pic's to show someone to help get an idea what he's gonna have to do.
e-mail the photo's to n_lambert@sbcglobal.net if need be. Thanks a TON in advance.

You can tell it's trimmed a shitload in the back where the skirt is.... I as well would like to see the inside.... cuz those tires are massive. I got my 325's yesterday and they're freaking huge... i can't wait to get them on my new bogarts and slam em on there.... and see how they look..... i'll shoot some pics once on....
