Default Service tire monitor system help

I put new rims on my car. How do I disable the "service tire monitor system" that keeps popping up on my display???

You cant. You will either have to buy aftermarket products to remove it or just deal with the DTC coming up.

You can go to your dealership and probably be charged for them to remove it with a tech II

There was a thread somewhere about making DIY "pressure chambers" to trick the Tire pressure system.

BuffaloSS did this, but I think he had an issue with his that he didn't originally take into consideration, I don't remember though he'll have to chime in.

I think you just have to make the computer learn again by resetting the system. I had to do this once with my neighbors c6 z06. He bought new tires/rims and he came to my work (tire center) and i used our hand held reset device and he was good to go from there. Whoever installed your tires/rims must have swapped over the sensors, if they are a good shop, they too should have this device.

If you're talking about having a dealer shut the TPMS system off, it's been done. They can do it. They just won't in some instances, I guess.

When I got my new wheels, I did not take into consideration the angle of the valve stem hole in the wheel. I bought the sensors but they stuck out too far and would get snapped right off with the right bump, so I didn't have them put in. If I wasn't in a hurry, I would have strapped them to the center of the wheel with something (they sell plumber's strap kits that work well). Anyway, I mounted the tires anyway and then built this little PVC chamber and pumped it up. Everything was well. I strapped it to the OnStar module in the trunk.

A couple days later, I got an error. Turns out that they need to roll to stay awake/charged. Ever since, I've had the chamber rolling around in the trunk. Pretty damn annoying if you ask me, but no more than the error in the dash. I was going to ask the dealer to eliminate the system, but I do like it in the winter when pressure changes so often...and I'm not paying for them to do this twice a year.

By next spring, I'll have these tires taken off, sensors installed on the center of the wheel, and then tires put back on.

Well doesn't that blow!!!!!!!!! Plus on top of that I added washer fluid and I found the oil cap was gone. I have 4800 miles and the dealer was the only ones to have their hands on my car.
