Default Car Care Question

With winter coming up here pretty close the weathers starting to get worse and worse and since i dont have a garage to park the car in right now I've been using my car cover during winter. I went digging for it last night and noticed it had a bunch of **** on it and to be honest I dont feel comfortable putting it on the car right now. Can you wash car covers? I figured maybe if i put it on the delicate setting with no fabric softner it should be okay? It just feels grungy and dirty and i know i'd never use a dirty *** towel when i'm detailing it so anybody got suggestions?

There should be some kind of care instructions with the cover. There is another post from The Crazy Sweed where he washed his without any problems. I would think the gentle cycle and hang dry would be fine.
