Default 02 SS after PC, Menzerna, and Tropi Care

After two days and 10 hours, 4 hours on the first day and 6 on the second, it's finally done. I first used the orange pad with Menzerna SIP and followed with Tropi Care Swirl Cutter then the Tropi Care XP Sealant. I was finally able to see it in the sun and it still had the horrible spider webs everywhere! I switched to the yellow pad with the Menzerna SIP, Tropi Care Swirl Cutter Plus and the Tropi Care XP Sealant with Meguiars Yellow Wax (had some leftover). All I can say is WOW. The yellow pad got the job done but I had to follow with the white pad and a heavier swirl cutter because of the marring effect the yellow pad put on the car. I have almost no swirls or scratches now and no more hazing or marring of the paint. Steve from Tropi Care if awesome. I called him and told him that the orange pad didn't do it so I ordered the yellow one. He sent me a free sample of the Swirl Cutter Plus with my order. My first order spilled some of the Tropi Care XP Sealant in the shipping box and Steve sent me the equivalent replacement for free! Here are the final results. I put everything on by the PC and took off with Cobra towels.

Below, is the passenger door.

Looks Great! Does the SIP leave alot of residue ? alot of the Swirl Removers leave dust and it sometimes gets ahrd to clean. Specially off plastics.

It leaves a fair amount. It looked like I sanded wood in the garage when I was done but it came off the trim and the windows by running a towel down over and blowing it off. The yellow pad feels like it will do some damage but it was the best choice for me after failing with the orange pad.

I used the IP with the orange pad yesterday and ended up with the "wood shop look" also. If you mist the pad it helps a little. I use compressed air to get rid of the dust.

Looks good, I must be doing something wrong because my paint still sucks and I have tried to follow the same methods other people use.

The "Tropi-Care" yellow pad is more aggressive than the orange pad. The colors might be different for different manufacturers.

In the Lake Country series, the yellow pad is a medium cutting foam which is more aggressive than the more dense foam of the orange pad. The orange foam does light cutting or heavy polishing duty.

Nice work Ryan.

As you continue to maintain the surface, you will be able to concentrate on any areas that you may think need further improvement. With more and more experience working with the PC and chemicals, you will get faster and better results. Feel free to contact me with questions anytime.

How can I learn how to do an entire detail like that. I see people post up what processes they used and its like 10 steps. How can I do it? Is there a list of products and tools I need?

You have the colors right, the yellow pad is more abrassive. Still didn't think you could cut thru spiderwebs though. That's usually all the way thru the clearcoat

The key to getting these results is to be patient when first learning to use these tools and chemicals. I hear where many are concerned about burning through the clear coat when using a Porter Cable buffer. It would be very difficult to do so even at high speed. As one starts to use these combinations, they will develop valuable learning experience from the use of the different pads and compounds or polishes.

Feel free to contact me with your situations and I'll be able to provide you with options to help achieve your desired results.
