Ram Air II Hood pics please
I am going to get a Ram Air hood for my LT1 in a few weeks. But I am on the fence about which style to get. I like the OEM style but I am considering the other style trufiber makes. Does anyone have more pics of their LT1 with this hood?

God i hate those hoods. I think they look so out of place i mean, what are those lines going to? It looks like a plastic stick on scoop like every other silverado and civic out there. However, if thats what you're leaning towards, there are a few members here with them. Theres a Blue one that has blackbird stripes. Custom blu color i think electron but not sure. I have a 96 WS6 and would never put anything else on my car. The hood on my car is pure awesomeness. I love it more than i should....... lol

i think it looks good on that one b/c of the wheels. im on the fence about both of them. right now im leaning towards the oem style b/c no one where i live has an LT1 w/ a ram air hood. they are all like mine, V6 firebirds or the LS1 ram airs. I just found out today that it will be $525 painted no matter which style i go with. I have to make up my mind quick.

its a trufiber hood. one of their sales people is in my car club and trufiber is based in the next city over from me. im getting the hood for $325 and im having maaco paint it for $200. the one by me does good work, they repainted my bumper a year ago. the actual cost will be closer to $600 after i throw on the blackbird stripes

OEM WS6 Hood... that trufiber hood doesnt look right on lt1s IMO.
Fitment issues are a big issue you will have to worry about when you pick up either hood that is not factory OEM. Im lucky i snagged one cause i have heard some horror stories with people getting hoods in the mail and the gaps and fitment are

yeah they flow with the car much better. you'll also have less fitment issues if you can find an oem hood. thats what i did, found one unpainted. the body shop said it slipped right on and required no fitting whatsoever. they did have to repair a small hole in the fiberglass which was the reason the hood was unpainted (it was an oem prototype) and some wear on the corners by the windshield because it was standing straight up for several years, but then again i got it for $300.

there was a black oem one for sale a month ago for $340 by me. if i had the money i would have gone for that one. but the deal i have waiting for me is pretty good so unless by some miracle i stumble upon one in the next few weeks im going to get a trufiber
