Default Opinion's on Katech's C5R Valvecovers

I'd like to put a nice set of taller valve covers on my car and add some "bling" at the same time. I keep thinkin that these Corvette C5R embossed valvecovers would look good but the fact that they say Corvette C5R on them is bugging me. It's not a Corvette, nor does it sport the C5R block.

What are your opinions?

Get in touch with ESP, they have some nice looking V/C that are cheaper than the rest that are out there.

You could always get a good machine shop to mill the embossing off. It's not really all that major of a task. Then you could have your own designs milled in to em'. Or, you cold leave them plain, and just have them lightly beaded for the serious no-nonsense look. You could even have the fasteners for the covers anodized in any color you want.

I was thinking of that but I didn't know what it'd cost. I wouldn't think too much. Anyone got any ideas?

I'd like to have 427 LS1 or something of that nature engraved in it.

I might be able to help you there. I know a business that's done alot of things for me. They'd able to laser engrave a skull & crossbones on it if you wanted. You just name it! You just need to be able to provide the exact design you want. I'll have to check and see if they are up to it this time of year.

I believe you shot those

BTW, are these machined for the o-ring gaskets to accompany the LS1?

nope, not machined for any kind of gasket. thats really my only concern w/ running these. you might get ahold of Jay johnson. he bought that set in the pictures, and has been using them on his 402 motor.

Email Paul at Thunder Racing. He has the newer Katech cast valvecovers that look kick ***. They even come with an optional coil-pack relocation bracket that moves the coils up above the valvecovers. I'd get a set of those and have them polished/chromed. Paul has a set on his new engine, maybe he can post some pics.

Those are the ones I bought for my Grand Sport. Still waiting for their arrival though so no opinions yet.
