Why bother?
You can get these already formed just for the F-Body and save the time and hassles.

That's why.

I got my vette covers from GMPartsDirect for around $40, I believe. A little cutting and they're ready to go on.

Here's a good set of pics by a member of this board for what you need to cut:

Yep, there's a difference in the price, but you can't begin to compare the looks between the two. Everybody wants something different and I want the best.

Not true. You can modify the C5 FRC's. I've seen many that look fantastic. The "best" is not always the most money. Besides, there are people who have plenty of money. Money can't buy taste.

I agree with unit. $275 for FRC's is ridiculous.

$275 is WAAAAY to much for some pieces of plastic which you can paint at home... I bought mine off a board member for $55, then cut them and painted them and put on some vinyl decals. Whole job probably cost around $85.

Here are mine (at the bottom): http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/485025/2

Hey! Those are my photos! Thanks for the good words!

It can be an inexpensive, simple mod to hide the coil packs.
Or if you want more, You can spend more money for a one of a kind custom product, like BullDawg for example.

To each their own, ..., Dawg now has a sweet pair of covers.

Fbodyconcepts makes a nice product to start with, I simply didn't have the extra $275 to start with when I did my first set. I spent $56 for the FRC's, plus $50 for the custom plaques I had made a couple weeks later.

And then there's the people whoc don't like adding the covers at all, ...

Some of the sweetest lookin' LS1's I've seen are the ones who are now relocating the coil packs & cleanin' up the valve covers & manifold areas.

That's what make us all our own enthusiast, each a little different. Ever go to a show & see a bunch of cars exactly alike?

Rock-On! Do yer own thing & be proud of what you've accomplished & show it off!

Hey guys! No fights! Just opinions
And remember that $275 is for the carbon fiber.
They are $225 for the regular that you can paint your own style.
Afterthoughts charges $195 for core + more $ for extras and you have to wait 8-10 weeks!

Thanks a bunch. I filled in the letters with JB Weld. It's strong, heat resistant, and very easy to sand when dry. Worked like a charm. I got my lettering from Brent, he does high quality stuff. He made my letters in chrome and they look sweet, but he can do just about any custom lettering you need done.
