Default Where to buy best SS hood?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy an SS hood and was wondering where everyone thinks the best place to buy one is. I don't really care if its fiberglass or not... I just want to get the best fitting SS hood for the buck. I was thinking one off ebay. Is there a particular seller off ebay that is better than one or another?

Also, I noticed that it looks like the fiberglass hoods have the hood scoop closed off...is this the case? How hard is it to open the hood up?

Open to any suggestions! Thanks!

Hello there .... my suggestion ....IMO is buy a Functional hood .... not those looks only type of hoods ..... i know its a 50% upgrade on the exterior detailing but i call no way .... if you have a professional in fiberglass around your area who did 98-02 camaro hoods before .... get to see his work's first (you MUST SEE HIS WORKS FIRST IN PERSON) .... ordering the hood i not worth all the money ..... i had a local fiberglass business who did do 98-02 camaro hods before ... fab up a scoop for me .... for around 600$ .... worth the buck if you ask me ... living in Bahrain=(middle east) = 750$ for shipping only the hood here ........ check out my work .... i had the scoop open from the front & back side too ... (JUST TO SEE EVERYTHING IS COOL UNDER THE HOOD) PAINT IN PROGRESS !! will post when done =)

ebay (hoods4sale) can't beat the price, just make sure you have a good body guy to fit it

The hood looks great! Do you have to cut open the hood scoop yourself and if so how hard is it to do?

in short, GM. but thats like $1500. or you can always look into a used one from a parted out car.

or you can go with many of the aftermarket company's like VFN, Trufiber, RKSport, etc. theres lots of them that
make great products.

or you can go with the ebay seller hoods4sale as suggested earlier. both of my hoods are from there. great price,
and they look great, and are fully functional. i was on a budget when i chose to buy there the first time, but now
that i've gone there and been happy, twice, i'd still get another even if i weren't on a budget.

like ran-dom said, i took it to a shop and let a pro do the fitting/install, and it came out great.

Thanks! I appreciate you taking the time to explain your story. I think I'll go with one of the "hoods4sale" ebay ones
