I paid 300 Total.
The cost of an alarm/keyless entry/ remote start and modules for trunk and windows was $200 and Install was $100.

Its a prestige 997, not top of line but its been good to me for 2 years.

I don't recomend using a keyless entry to substitute for manual locks, you 'd need em in case you have a dead battery or something.

I had a local alarm/stereo shop install it for me. Where are you from, maybe I can call the shop for you if you are local.

I am an A4, but its not uncommon for m6 cars to have remote start these days.

I think its some kind of immobilizer that keeps the car from moving even if it was left in gear.

Yeah there's always freak stories like that but like you said it was few years ago (I'm guessing old technology) or the installer didn't do good of a job.

I think there was a huge debate here on tech about doing a remote start on m6 safely or not a while ago ,but honestly It can be done safely with right parts and a professional installer.

There maybe some shops that point blank say No because its an m6, others that are confident and know what they are talking about install the whole kit in a few hours.
