Default cracked winshield

OK guys I went to the dealership and they quoted me a price of about 700.00$ for a winshield. I'm wondering if there is an aftermarket company selling winshields. I would much rather put a cam in my car than a winshield but hell its half way across my winshield now TIA

Some insurance policies have a zero deductible on glass but then you have to make a claim to do this I beleive. That sucks because it may(not sure) make your premium go up. You shouldn't have to pay anything now. You may go to a salvage yard and find one if your lucky. I would much rather put a cam in to. Good luck.

I know here in Florida the front windshield is a non deductible item on insurance. Check with your insurance company. I have had mine done three times!! Debris on expwy!! got it twice and on the third they screwed up installing and when trying to correct they cracked it.. Be glad it is not a Z06 windshield! They are thinner then the C5..

Why don't you try Percy's speedglass? If you are going to pay for a windshield, get a lighter one!

Got mine installed for $250 in SC. The back glass costs even more. You can file a claim for both glasses being broken (burgulary or whatever) the ins company wont come out. Both glasses retail for around 1500. So 500 for your deduct or 250 or whatever it is and 1000 for the glass and some other stuff.

Yeah, I know that your insurance will cover it here in Florida. Also, if you can't get a windshield cheaper than that, call Moonlight Autoglass. They're located here in Jacksonville, but I'm sure they could get you a windshield cheaper than that for you. BTW, their number is (904)350-0038. You would probably want to ask for John Walsh, he's the owner.

Hmmmmm....some of the responses on this post are interesting. For a windshield to be ONLY 175 installed I can guarantee you that its not a factory one. There is no "gm" windshield but the company that manufactures the windshield that come on the cars cost more than 175 alone. You should check the top of the windshield to make sure there is a spot for t-tops to slide in(if the car has t tops and also check to make sure on the sides of the windshield that you cant see any of the body of the car. A glass company will always try to take the cheap way out so make sure it fits right!
