Default 1st of the new paint gets laid on. UPDATED!

Well its been a LONG LONG 5 months in the paint/body shop.. but the light is at the end of the tunnel..

Body will be shot tomorrow but today they shot the hood, doors, trunk, spoiler, etc.. the results:

after the body is shot/cleared then a color sanding followed by the stripes being laid out and shot.. the stripe color will be a smokey silver color similar to the "silverstone" color on the new 350z's

The interior ashtray and vents have been welded up and the dash will be shot a custom color that matches the charcoal grey of the powderpainted engine parts. Firewall, wheel wells will be blue with charcoal grey core support and frame..

Ive learne a LOT of patience durring this.. I cant wait to drive it this summer

Coming together awfully nice and the paint looks awesome! It's gonna be beautiful once it's done.

sweet! These old cars sure do give a new meaning to the word "project" don't they Steve. I've gotten far more involved in making things more pretty/clean than I originally planned. Its just so damn hard to do things half *** when you see issues. Just finished welding up/sanding the firewall tonight. Tomorrow some light filler, final sanding, and hope to have it painted on Saturday. Then I can start putting the car back together..... it never ends

Are you going to add any stripes or anything Steve, or just leave it solid like that? It really looks amazing, but pictures surely don't do it any justice.

Stoleit: The color is Subaru WRX blue pearl... I wanted a medium blue and this is an amazing color when the light hits it and not too dark when it dosent

SSG: Yea, it will have Z28 stripes like it used to but in the "smoked silver" color

NineBall: Tell me about it.. this project is WAY WAY more involved than I originally planned.. it became a "while im there i might as well....." snowball effect. Add in the complexity of the LS1 addition and its a very complex project.

Jon: Yea John.. go check it out.. they should have the body painted by Saturday.. then color sand and paint the stripes Monday.. Tues they paint the interior.. Oh, and bring that car by so i can check it out (and i need to move that radiator out )

Thanks for the comments everyone.. will keep ya updated!
